July 04, 2024, was another celebration of Independence Day in downtown Roseville, CA, with the annual parade that kicked off exactly a 09:00 with the singing of our National Anthem.

Photo:  It's 9 o'clock in the morning on the dot, the advertised start of the event, July 04, 2024, and our National Anthem is being sung by a local gal.  All attendees of the event removed their hats and stood at attention as the song was sung.

Patriotism is alive and well in Roseville, CA!

Photo:  The parade began at the extreme south end of downtown Roseville, where Vernon Street and Riverside Avenue meet, and began with six of Roseville's finest leading the parade.  As the parade was still a couple blocks down Vernon Street, this gal took the opportunity to snap a photo or two of her daughter.

I give her credit as a photographer, as she's holding her phone at the correct aspect for a portrait photo.

Photo:  The parade began with six talented motorcycle officers from the Roseville Police Department, riding in formation and performing many exciting maneuvers.  Truly a crowd pleaser!  The officers were super friendly and waved to the attendees as they performed figure eights and other interesting patterns.

Photo:  The Sacramento morning news/magazine show Good Day Sacramento was in attendance, with reporter Sakura Gray providing live action, with photographer Dave Grassoff photoing the event for live television.  The onlookers are enjoying the chance to star on live television!

Photo:  Sakura interviews a young attendee on live television.  Good Day Sacramento is a long time Sacramento area television show, as it showcases events, culture and the many great attributes the greater Sacramento area has of offer.  This fine show enjoys a HUGE audience in the greater Sacramento area, and all over northern California.

Photo:  Local Troup 11 of the Boy Scouts carried the colors, and began the parade, followed by a ladder engine of the Roseville Fire Department.

Photo:  The banner says it all... "Welcome to the 4th of July Parade..."

Photo:  Citrus Heights Community Marching Band, located in neighboring Citrus Heights, CA, is a marching band that plays at many events around the greater Sacramento area.  The band is skilled and talented, and played patriotic tunes as they marched past where I was sitting.

Just for the record, if you know anything about downtown Roseville, I was sitting on the east side of Vernon Street - to take advantage of the shade and good lighting for photos - just south of Grant Street.  There you go...

Photo:  "The Giants" pee wee baseball team are lead by a fine, restored vintage 1965 Mustang.

Photo:  This little guy was having a lot of fun blowing bubbles at the parade watchers.

Photo:  Talk about patriotic strollers!

Photo:  This gal was riding on a very patriotically decorated flat bed truck - we're in Roseville, after all - and singing patriotic songs using karaoke.  She was truly a crowd pleaser!

Photo:  Roseville Moose Lodge 1293 headed up the middle of the parade.  The City of Roseville completely closed about six blocks of Vernon Street to traffic for the parade.  No worries, as Vernon Street isn't a major traffic artery, and who actually goes shopping at 9 in the morning on 4th of July?

Photo:  "I Love the USA..."  We all do, and this truck says it all...

Photo:  One of the parade officials exchanges small talk and pleasantries with one of the onlookers.  The City of Roseville staff were attentive, friendly and very helpful in every way.

Photo:  Placer County is adjacent to Sacramento County, yet worlds away, as we're as 'red" as Kansas, compared to the "blue" of neighboring Sacramento county.  Yet, there is a LGBTQ community, and they participated in today's parade, and seemed to be enjoying the moment.

Photo:  Sacramento Moustache and Beard Club is a yearly participant in Roseville's Annual 4th of July parade, and they never fail to entertain, as they're always animated an funny.  The club is both a social and a service club, with members all over the greater Sacramento area.

Photo:  Members of the Sacramento Moustache and Beard Club wave to the crowd and lend to the festive atmosphere.  These guys - and girls - are always entertaining and friendly.

Photo:  Wild Bill, a local tattoo artist drives his trademark "Amphicar" in the parade, squirting water at the crowd, like he does every year.  This guy is a local character and a respected member of the Roseville Chamber of Commerce.

Photo:  End of the parade... the street sweeper, as the crowd packs up to leave to attend the events in nearby Royer Park, which included food, games and entertainment.

I've posted quite a few photos, but they're only a highlight of the hour-plus long parade, as there were countless other participants.  You can only take and post so many photos...

The parade was free to attend, family-friendly, lots of fun, and lasted over an hour, loaded with enthusiasm and patriotism.  There's plenty of free parking in downtown Roseville, thanks to a couple of city-owned parking garages that have sprouted up in the downtown core over the past ten years or so.

Good times and patriotism are alive and well, at the Annual 4th of July Parade, in downtown Roseville, CA.
